Can USB Headphones mess anything up?

I bought a pair of 7.1 surround sound headphones about a year ago and once i plugged them in my pc acted strange so i stop using them. My normal pair recently broke so i gave my old 7.1's another go and i got a bluescreen that night...

Need to buy another pair of headphones should i be worried about buying USB headphones?

You more than likely had a bad driver. Though, i guess it would be possible for the headphones themselves to be bad, it's far more likely to be the driver. Always buy a reputable brand such as Creative, Razer, Logitech. You will have a far lower chance of driver issues, and better support down the road. As for your title, no, USB has no chance of actually causing system damage. Once again, a bad driver can cause more issues than a bad device.

thanks for reply. i ended up buying http/www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0079G2Y52/ref=oh_details_o00_s01_i00 now lets hope they are better.
