Hello,
Looking for a new laptop. Preferably something with an i7 as I do a bit of gaming. I've been eying the Asus G Series G73JH-X1 but wanted to ask around and see if there were any better options before I jump for it.

Hi there,

The Asus looks like a good choice. Have you checked out the Toshiba Qosmio X505-Q880? It has a 2.8 GHz Intel Core i7-720QM processor, 6 GB RAM, and NVIDIA GeForce GTS 360M graphics. It is worth looking into before you make a final decision.

The Asus is better than the laptop suggested due to the ATI 5870 HD in there, which to my knowledge obliterates almost all of the available moblie graphic cards on the market not to mention the leap up from 6gb to 8gb ram and they both have the same processor so the Asus is a better all rounder.

That Asus is the best gaming laptop you can find until spending 3,000 dollars or more and getting desktop parts for everything. The mobility radeon HD 5870 is the strongest laptop GPU in the world, and the Core i7 in it is one of the strongest CPUs in the world. Throw in a ton of RAM, nice screen, and a high build quality, there is nothing that can compare.

Hi there,

Glad to help! It looks the model that your dad got you is a great option. It even has 500 GB hard drive space, which many gaming laptop don't. It's also lighter than most gaming laptops of its size. I hope you continue to enjoy it!

That Toshiba is nice, though I have to ask what games you want to play and at what settings. The GPU in the Toshiba is a mid-range GPU, whereas the 5870 in the Asus is the best laptop GPU in the world. It can max Crysis, the Toshiba's 330 can't. If you want to play intensive games at high settings, the GPU will want an upgrade.
