Hello,
I've inherited a CDR770, no probems with playback but when I insert a new CD-R to record something I get the message 'wrong CD...use audio CD' I am using good quality 700MB, 80 mins 52X discs which are clearly labelled suitable for music-----in fact I use the same ones in my laptop for downloading music!! Anybody??

Make 100% sure you are using CDs that are specifically made for Music. Those older CD-R units were very specific about the discs you used. Some of them would not accept a standard data CD-R. Many CD-R labels are misleading, and will state that you can store music on them, but are not intended for CD-R recordings. The link below shows what an actual music CD-R label looks like.
