Technics SU-VX800 receiver sound cuts out

Hello,

I have an old SU-VX800 receiver that I'm having problem with. I have this receiver hooked up to two jvc speakers and my xbox 360. This is all done through analog.

The sound will play some of the time. Most of the time it wont though and the "current drive" light turns off when this happens.

Any ideas what is going on? I am sorry for the lack of information as I am a complete noob with this stuff.

Just noticed the longer I have the receiver off the longer the sound will last without cutting out. could this be overheating?
