USB vs. 3,5mm jacks

i am searching for a new set of headphones to buy for gaming on my pc. I am stuck between 2 pair from steelseries both using a 50mm driver units with the same frequency response, however, one pair is USB and the other uses 2 3,5mm jacks. I have the jacks on my pc but i was wondering which one would be a better purchase. I had heard somewhere that USB had better audio then the 3,5mm's but i dont know how credible my source is, thanks for the help guys.
