Solved! Can the Alienware m11x play 1080p?

Hello, I understand that the cpu is slow but i was wondering if with some help from the nVidia gpu it could play 1080p mkv files using coreavc on windows or using VDPAU on linux

It does 1080P in a very excellent manner. That GT 335M GPU does most of the heavy lifting in HD playback.
Even without the GT 335M active (switched off for longer battery life the GMA 4500MHD does OK in HD playback.
And since the screen is 1366x768 you'll be getting your HD in the 720P flavor.
Drivers for Linux? Maybe.
