Charger Re-wire????

Coule someone please tell me how the jack on the end of a charger is wired up? I know alot are different,

I have..

I Hi Grade Laptop, the wire from the transformer is 20v, has a red and white cable in it, the jack now its romeved it a normal tube, but on the botton there is a metal hoop????

Any help please???

ok, so a spelling mistake or two!! the jack is from what i can tell, is a tube, black inside, metal out. a loop on the bottom....

what type of laptop are we talking about?

also have you checked if there is info one the power supply regarding the PIN out.
