Yeah as I said, you can spend a few hundred thousand on creating an acoustically perfect room with proper treatment and furniture. Then audio equipment like amplifiers and preamplifier can run over 100k+ easily. If you use expensive speakers, chances are you'll be using either individual amplifiers for different frequency ranges separated by crossovers or separate amplifiers for each channel/speaker. Proper wiring can be in the thousands. And speakers such as ones from McIntosh, Dynaudio, bowers/wilkins...etc can level up for another few hundred thousand. So A few million for home theater isn't out reach.

Not sure if OP is serious, that is like asking what is the best car, I have no budget I just want the best. Can't tell if this is a low-profile troll thread.

Typical OP response in this kind of thread: "OMG whats wrong with your people. Spending that kinda money?!?!--$300 is my max budget you guys are crazy!"

@astra

i doubt that it is a troll thread since i dont get that vibe. more than likely the OP does have some sort of limit but really has not puch much thought into it. perhaps the OP doesnt realize that equipment can range from a few dollars to several hundred thousand per component depending on what is bought.

i'll throw a generic answer out since there are no specifications....

klipsch speakers! i've got a set of quintet iv (5.0) and they sound great. you can buy 2 extra speakers for a 7.0 set. i'm also using a 450w sub and it also works great. if you want bookshelf or floor standing speakers klipsch makes these as well.

as far as receivers go, i'm nothing but happy with my pioneer vsx-30.
