Hi

I am looking to buy an M17x or an Ibuypower Battalion 101 D900F laptop to replace my current PC, the question is which should I buy and will it be better than my PC considerably?

My PC specs are
C2D E6750 @ 2.66
5gb ram @800
GTX 275 EVGA

the specs for the M17x are

Intel® Core™ i7 720QM 1.6GHz (2.8 GHz Turbo Mode, 6MB Cache)
Dual 1GB ATI Radeon™ Mobility HD 4870 in CrossfireX™ (should I go for single?)
17-inch WideUXGA 1920 x 1200 RGB LED (1200p)
4GB Dual Channel DDR3 at 1066MHz
250GB 7,200RPM SATA-II HDD
$2,449.0 USD

the IBUYPOWER laptop is

Battalion 101 D900F 17" WUXGA 1920X1200 Widescreen LCD TFT
Intel® Core™ i7 930 Processor (4x 2.8GHz/8MB L3 Cache)
Mobility DDR3 1GB NVIDIA GTX285 PCI-Express 3D Video
6GB [2GB x 3] 1333MHz DDR3 SDRAM
500 GB 7200rpm
$2503

Screen quality is a big factor for me, any complains on either ?

Please note I will buy it from Canada but these prices are US store prices and its more of a pain to ship the iBUYPOWER to canada

I play MMO RPG games on a 40" FULL HDTV and found that the highest setting give my PC a problem, upgrading it is easy but I will travel in a month or so and can't take it with me

Hello and welcome to the forums :)
First of all wait for dual 5870M to become available in US(Currently you can choose 1 5870M)
Also the IBUYPOWER one performs better in CPU tasks due to having a desktop CPU but produces more heat.
I would go for the AW one but with a 5870M(or dual 5870M if your budget allows)

Thanks for the reply

Will the dual 5870M alien ware outperform my current PC in a noticeable way?
Can I then max out latest games on full HD setting?

It would perform significantly better than a GTX 275M and will handle games on Full HD(however in some very demanding titles you may need to turn off features like AA)but overall it will give you an excellent performance
