Check whether your laptop has a wireless adapter built in (see maker's manual or Control Panel, System, Hardware, Device Manager). If not, buy a USB wireless adapter.

If you already have an internet service you will need a wireless router. If you already have a wireless router you need to check the wireless security passphrase on the router and add that to the wireless adapter on the laptop.
