DNS (domain name server) is how the internet translates the 'friendly' web address like http://www.caljobs.ca.gov/ to the 'real' internet address of http://158.96.231.200/. When you type in http://www.caljobs.ca.gov/ in your browser your computer will use your internet connection to 'look up' the server address of the site you want to visit.

I was able to access the ca.gov using the IP address you gave. I was not able to access caljobs, which is what I really needed. I am not sure what a DNS problem is. Please explain.
