Hey all, looking for a good 42" HD tv to get for a friend of mine, anyone got suggestions? LCD or LED? Looking for something that isn't too expensive, isn't too fancy, and works good.

Solution
If you want the best for the least in a 42" TV go plasma. Not as punchy but no motion artifacts. Usually better color accuracy too. You may not be aware but when you ask about LCD or LED you are really asking about LCD in both cases, the difference being in the way the LCD panel is lit (cfl lamp or leds).

Got any 42" plasma suggestions? I'm ordering online. Unless you find an insane local deal heh. I have $400 budget.

I found this in my local brandsmart, this look good?

-42" Class Viera 600HZ Plasma HDTV 1024x768. Didn't like that it isn't 1280x720 though, and not sure if I can fit in 1920x1080 in this budget.

My bad for sounding rushed, I just have to get it today. Whether it's buy at the store or order.

Anyone? I can't find any that are 1280x720+ for $400, yet they state they are 720p, upscaling perphaps? You guys think there's no true 720p plasma 42" for $400-ish? Best I can find is 1024x768.

Is this good? Gonna go with 32" instead of 42",

Not sure if LCD or LED is better for 32".
