Which of these two models should I purchase? They are the same price on Amazon and it looks like they have the same specs...I'm not sure though. If it just comes down to which brand is better, which would you recommend? Or is there another notebook at a similar price that you think would be better than either?

Out of the two, I'd go with the gateway, as they tend to be a bit more reliable than acer's in terms of lasting longer.
