Connecting USB to TV

Hi,

I am having trouble viewing movies from a USB drive. The drive is recognised on the computer and i can load movie files.

When i connect the drive to the TV however it does not register.

Can someone advise as to what i may need to do?

First off what kind of TV are you using. I know some TVs have the USB port but doesn't necessarily mean you can watch the movies via USB. I had a VZIO with a USB port however, it was unable to read the USB device. I recently got a Smart TV from LG and it has USB ports and I am able to watch my movies on it. However, my LG TV had a movie viewer program installed in the TV which allowed the USB to be read and view movies. Your TV might have the USB port but doesn't have a program in order to read the movie files on the USB.
