HP dv8000 - but which one?

Hi,

I am trying to upgrade the parts in a HP dv8000. But there are 3 models, with 1 taking different RAM.

The model I am in possession of uses the Intel T2300 Centrino 1.66. The case only states HP dv8000, but no other designatory letters (CTO, t, z ??)

Any help appreciated

Usually on HP laptops there is a part number on the bottom, the model number on the front is always just the family. Look for a white HP service tag, if may also be under the battery (less likely). It should list the product (family), serial, and part #. You should be able to lookup the part # on HP's site or google.

If not the second easiest thing is to pull out the RAM and check what type it is, you can usually gogole the part if it isn't immediately obvious what speed/type it is.
