Acer aspire 6935g problems

Hello,
the sound controls on the left of the keyboard are frozen at maximum and on mute this laptop has recently been back to Acer for repair for the same problem. it is now out of warranty

i had read some reviews at amazon a while back and found out that acer and e machines are more or less the same company and that they produce junk ,one common problem was that they used under sized power supply in there home computer and it sounded as if they made it difficult to get warranty service.
