ASUS G73 initial partitioning

I have ordered a G73 and the vendor will do a custom install of win 7 home. I have asked him delete the recovery partition, install win 7 on C (80 GIG SSD) and make the 500 GIG seconday drive 1 huge partition for storage. When I get it I will test it, then create an 'out of box' image that I will store on another external HD. I want my machine free of bloatware and trial software. Is this a good way to go?
