hi guys

im looking at the LG 47LV550T hdtv to play pc games on.

my question is that the tv spec does say its 1080/60p capable but is 500hz wich leads mr to belive the framerate will be locked at 50 hz when playing pc games. i just cant seem to find a tv with a 60hz multiple's i.e 60/120/240 hz

country of origin?

500hz sounds like a plasma screen. no lcd screen has a refresh rate that high. personally i wouldnt go with a plasma screen due to its very bad history of high cost in maintenance.

60hz/120hz/240hz are all based on the 60hz typically found in the USA or other countries following the same standards.

in many foreign countries 50hz is the standard so my guess is that the scale would go 50hz/100hz/200hz.

in general though you will want a 60hz or 50hz screen depending on the country you live in. televisions of higher refresh rates often lag in games due to post processing as they only accept a 60hz or 50hz signal. this means that even if you get lets say...100fps you will not see that on a 100hz tv. the tv will take only 50fps and then post process in the other frames fake which is where the lag comes from.

i use a 60hz television in the usa and it works fine with zero problems. i suggest you also go with a 60hz or 50hz option depending on where you live.
