What would make 1 speaker make a popping sound onkyo tx-sr705s

Hello,
I have a Onkyo TX_SR705s Reciever,Mirage Speakers. The problem I haveing is my left speaker will make a popping sound once in a while. I have change all of the wireing. Updated the receiver but it still pops.

Have you tried another source? It's more likely a pre-amp from your source. I had the same problem on my system before, i found that my EQ is the faulty unit.

Yes I replace the receiver and the popping has stopped. But I still don't know what would cause that receiver to make the speaker make a popping sound. I have a recording of the sound and I played it to the guys at Best Buy and no one had ever heard anything like that before.It sound like someone hitting a metal pot.
