Bypass dell studio hdd password

bought dell studio from on ebay cant get hdd password any suggestions

I've read up about this and from what I've seen, there are a couple ways the password can be taken off. One is a program run in Windows that would take the password off the encrypted drive, but I'm guessing you can't even boot into Windows, so that wouldn't work. The second it to take it to a data recovery place, yet they charge $50 or more to take the password off, so that doesn't sound like the greatest idea.

The best idea is to follow what frozenlead said, contact the original seller and hopes he knows it, good luck.
