Hd tv prices vs time of year

Has any data been published which documents the time of year in which TV (particularly HD TV) prices are traditionally lowest, and if so where can the information be found?

To my knowledge (none of this is fact please take it with a pinch of salt):

On the build up to christmas, Samsung had a few cashback promotions and things. So that might be a good time to invest.

New technology is unveiled ~Q1 and available in Q2 of the year. I guess stock clearances and such pop up during the transitions to new hardware.

January Sales. Held off buying a TV this christmas because I expected to see some decent sales around now. Unfortunately there doesn't appear to be that much on offer
