Strange frame rates in FSX

Hi,

I have an Acer Aspire 8920G laptop with the following:
*Win7 32Bit installed on a mid-range SSD, FSX installed here aswell
*4GB memory, but since I can only run 32 bit its actually more like 3gb
*Core 2 Duo @ 2.4GHz
*1080p screen, with nvidia 9500m gs graphics
and FSX acceleration installed

I can run fsx at quite high settings, but after about a minuite the frame rate drops from about 24(locked) down to 10. Then, if I minimize then maximize FSX, the frame rate goes back to normal. This even happens at medium-low settings. My PC used to be able to cope fine about 6 months ago and on Vista, but now i think there must be something crucially wrong with one of the settings or something...

Please reply if you have any advice... :)

After downloading Speedfan, it says the temps are 55C for both processor cores, and 78C for the GPU, after doing about 5 mins of FSX. Could something as simple as this be impacting frame rate this much??

Your temps seem okay, so that's probably not your issue, assuming you recorded them correctly, which it sounds like you did.

Have you updated your graphics drivers? Are you sure this isn't a FSX problem (as in the application itself is causing the issue)?
