I'm looking at two laptops at the moment, one with an i3-330M at 2.13Ghz and one with a P8700 at 2.53Ghz. I was wondering which of those would be the better processor?

I'm not worried about power consumption that much, just which is more powerful because I'm looking at running games on it. The i3 laptop has an nVidia GT 330m graphics card and the P8700 has an ATI Radeon HD 4650, now I know that the 4650 is a better graphics card and I was wondering if that, coupled with the processor makes it a much better option?

HI as u r question is which processor is good for gaming i3 processor or core 2 duo p8700 processor well i suggest u to go with i3 processor beacuse as this got the 4 threads & hyper memory which always give best of best performance.
So, in short i3 is d better choice now compare with core 2 duo.

Yup man, basically Arrandale architecture is much more better than penryn, so i'd go with i3, actually i have lenovo y650 (p8700) and thinkpad edge 14(i3) and what can i say - thinkpad is faster everywhere you can think - even gaming.
