Solved! Hp dv8000 laptop display driver

when I install the video driver (nvidia geforce 7600) the lcd goes blank. I downloaded the driver direct from hp. The only was to get the screen to come back on is to start it in last good configuration. Thanks j

Sounds like it could be an incompatible or bad driver. Are you sure you are downloading the correct driver, i.e. the correct OS? If so, try downloading a slightly older driver for the time being and let HP know about the issue.
