Please help me. ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5470 vs Nvidia Geforce GT 220 M

Hello would like to buy a Asus notebook,but i`ve got to choose between k70ic-ty022l and k52jr-sx086d. First with T5900, 4 G DDR2 and Nvidia graphic card and second with I5, 4 G DDR3 and Ati card.Help me choose between this two cards. Thank you.

If its for gaming then they aren't good for gaming,but the performance is pretty much the same,so i would go for the second one due to faster CPU

Both models are for Adobe CS3 or CS4, a movie on my LCD ( thats why i want HDMI output ) maybe a game sometime . So which one?

Then definitely go for the i5. It is faster clock for clock than Core2Duo and you get both Turbo Boost (depending on usage, the CPU will OC to 2.53ghz) and HyperThreading (your dual core CPU will act more like a Quad Core).

Ok thanks for the advice but i`am waiting for another Asus laptop with i5, 4 G DDR3 and the most important, another video card, because this ATI is very poor.

Second one definitely, the GT 220M is just a little bit better than the 5470 you mentioned above but the i5 430M just can't be compared with the T5900, the i5 430M is as good as the T9800 and thats an expensive CPU if you ask me!

Anyways both videocards are just above the entry level video cards so the help of a much more powerful CPU should help the overall gaming experience you are looking for.

The budget is 1200 USD, but i`am from Romania so i can not compare the local market and the prices with the conditions from outside. For example the second laptop, the one with the i5 has a 1000 usd price.

I thought it just Intel marketing metafora (looong time ago), in real life the "HyperThreading" thing doesn't make any different or maybe only 2% in real life performance..nothing.

Hyperthreading yields extremely noticeable benefits in programs that are able to use multiple cores. Most of Adobe's CS software for example...

In games you won't notice it, but in professional software you sure will.

When running programs like Adobe CS4, the Video Card may affect the Hyper-threading of the i5 processor. If the video card has OpenCL, CUDA, and most specially openGL technology, the processor may not be 100% available because the GPU of the video Card is the one the program is using. Thus the Hyper-threading of the Processor won't be that noticeable.

Or I may just be wrong. I'm no expert but I think this theory sounds right.
