Solved! Computer Science Student Laptops?

Hey guys I am a Computer Science student and I am interesting in getting a Laptop mostly for school. I have been looking at ThinkPad’s and I wanted to get so advice. I have about $1000 to spend and I will only be using this for school. As of now I am mostly doing some C and C++ programming using Microsoft Visual Studio 2008. I want something that is fast and reliable that will last through my whole degree program (about 2 more years). Thank you for your help.

A current gen Core i5, i3 or AMD X2/X4 will do fine. Some thing like these ones (both under $1k):

Btw, I'm assuming you aren't gaming (ie Crysis) on these.

PS: Consider running Linux if you plan to run just pure (not these .NET cr@p) C/C++, Pearl, Python, Java,etc.

No I do not plan to play any games on this laptop. I have a desktop at home that is fully capable of playing games (ie Crysis). But for now i do plan on running Win7 64bit. Linux is an option for the future but for now i am planning on Win7.
