Sony Vaio windows 7 drivers UJ880AS

Hello

Did somebody have a solution for this DVD-RAM Drive UJ880AS in windows 7!!!
Doesn't work and no driver was found yet

I had the same problem. Took me a few hours to figure it out. The Windows 7 setup asks for a DVD driver when actually only a registry key needs to be changed.

With driver detective I found out that the driver for the Panasonic UJ-880AS was already up to date, but the Intel Sata driver was outdated. So I went to the Sony website and found the patch.

What you need is the "Intel Sata driver registry patch 080619a" which is available from Sony's website: http/support.vaio.sony.eu/computing/vaio/downloads/updates/index.aspx?l=en_IE&m=VGN-NS20E_S&os=10

After that I could upgrade to Windows 7.
