I have a dvd player LG DV256 which cant be controlled by remote or its buttons. Once you switch on power it only displays HELLO and thats it. You cant even switch it off unless you switch off the power from the socket. What might be the problem?

The microprocessor is hung up, can't go to the next stage.
remove and clean the chips, if they are in sockets, use deoxit G100, reinstall, and fire it up. That might do it or take it to the service center.
