Hey guys,

My friend is looking to buy a laptop which will let him play like Dragon Age, Mass Effect 2 (when it comes out) at medium-high settings with good playable framerate. at 720p resolution.

So here is what i have suggested him so far
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834146613
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834157045

Now my real question is how much difference will there be between a 1.6GHz core i7 vs a 2.53GHz core 2 Duo
I know that i7 is top of the line right now but will the huge difference in the clock speed between the core 2 duo and core i7 show any difference? Or will the performance be similar between the two processors

Also how does the 1GB DDR3 ATI Mobility Radeon HD4650 differ from 1GB DDR3 NVIDIA GeForce GT 240M?

Also if you guys have other laptops in mind which will let my friend play games like dragon age at medium-high settings please name them

Hello :)
In most games the difference between the i7 and 2.5Ghz CPU won't make a lot of difference but in some games that benefit from a QuadCore CPU like most RTS games and games like GTA IV,Prototype etc benefit from a QuadCore CPU.
But HD 4650 performs better than a GT 240M.
So how much does your friend want to pay and we can help you more finding a better laptop.

Thanks for the info...i thought there wouldn't be much difference between the i7 and 2.5Ghz core 2 duo

his maximum budget = $1200; but around $1000 would be best.

I would appreciate if you could find some other better laptops
