Hi I'm looking for help. I have an Alienware m9700. when I connect to power the orange light comes on the power button but I can't get the machine to boot up.I can't turn the machine off by the power button I have to wait untill the battery goes flat.Any suggestions.

i have currently got a dell XPS M 1730 and am getting an upgrade from dell due to constant issues with this unit. I recommend that you contact dell if you still have warranty before you do anything else. In Australia i usually get next day service, meaning a tech will be at my door.

I would explore that avenue if you have warranty coverage!

you can pop the battery out instead of waitting for it to die ... ?
