ok, i have the Samsung T260HD, its amazing and i like it a lot. i have it connected through hdmi to my nvidia gtx 480 *so i was lucky i didnt had to use the sound loop cable thingy*

recently i got the Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty sound card, and i see it has both S/PDIF in and out...and the Samsung T260HD also has a S/DIF out...but the motherboard also has a S/PDIF in and out connection!

im so confused...

should i connect the monitor S/PDIF to the soundcard or to the motherboard?

isnt hdmi supposed to take care of the sound?

i really hope someone helps...cuz it took me quite a while to build a killer pc, and this audio doubt has really been killing me lately XD

connect S/PDIF to the soundcard, you have two audio systems now, one onboard the motherboard, the other from the sound card.
HDMI is another format, you will use S/PDIF OR HDMI, but not both. Choose one or the other.
