How to connect 5 1 speaker of home theatre to pc

i have an 5.1 speaker of my home theatre .and i want to connect it on my pc.i have windows xp.and in realtec audio I/o its showing only headphone and 2ch speaker and i have done the configuration of 5.1 speaker by going in multimedia advanced in realtec.

- what kind of speakers do you actually have? pc speakers or home theatre speakers? if home theatre, are they hooked up to a receiver?

-how are you have them hooked up? what wire inputs/outputs are there?

-do you have the latest drivers for your sound card?
