Ok so I am getting ready to buy a HDTV and I am stuck on a choice between 2. First a Vizio for $1428 http://www.samsclub.com/sams/shop/product.jsp?productId=prod1630486&navAction=push and second a Sony Bravia for $1456 http://www.samsclub.com/sams/shop/product.jsp?productId=prod1830460&_DARGS=/sams/common/shopFilterFrag.jsp_A%3A_D%3Acom/walmart/ecommerce/samsclub/shoppingfilter/handler/ShoppingFilterFormHandler.changePreferredClub&_DAV=8283&_dynSessConf=5476254283044913182#accessories both are from Sams club as to why I am getting such a great price. Im not so much into the 3d thing. I have liked Vizio for a long time. I have heard Sony Bravias are not as good as the more expensive Sony's. Also the thing I am debating mostly is the Internet capability. I have looked at both but neither seem to have full internet capability like google tv. The apps seem very comparable like most cell phone apps today, and thats actually what the internet apps remind me of on the tvs. If anyone has any input on either of these tvs please help thank you

i cant find any information about the sony.
but there is 59 pages of forum discussion about kdl-xxHX800 here: http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?s=e02fc1cf178691de2d2392ade9aef06e&t=1256155

i dont know how much different a KDL-xxHX800 is compared to a KDL-xxHX801

here goes VIZIO internet applications:
http://www.vizio.com/discover/via

here goes SONY internet applications:
http://www.sonystyle.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ContentDisplayView?hideHeaderFooter=false&storeId=10151&catalogId=10551&langId=-1&cmsId=STATICS_BIV_showcase

they both have:
netflix

the vizio doesnt say anything about youtube videos.. but the sony does.
the vizio uses rhapsody as a dedicated music player
the sony uses slacker as the music player

the vizio has ebay (i dont know if its the full version of ebay or some slimmed down version)
but the sony doesnt have it.

i would go with picture quality first.
then i would want the 3D glasses, but you arent interested.
as for the internet applications.. i would just connect the television to the computer and browse the internet normally.

i'd say go to the store and put a grayscale picture on both televisions to see how the brightness and contrast hold up.
then look for excessive colors.

the vizio has an 8ms response time.. and the sony doesnt say.

if anything.. use the grayscale picture and then look at both screens and see which one annoys you.
then mess with the settings and try to remove that annoyance and have another look for anything annoying.

why are the internet applications hard to decide on?
