Logitech z-2300 + z-5500 -- how will it sound?

Hello,

Not quite sure which sub-category this belongs in...

I'm considering getting a logitech z-5500 speaker set. I currently have a z-2300 set.

My question is - can anyone tell me how the two sets sound together? For example, when playing music.

If it helps, I will be getting an Audigy SE card to go with the z-5500, and have the z-2300 hooked up to my onboard.

Thanks in advance!

Hmm, this probably should've been in the high-end audio forum instead, but I can't find a way to move it.

The Z-5500 has slightly larger satellites which should make them sound fuller. I have experience with both the Z-680s and the Z-560s which are predecessors to the 5500s (they use the same cone drivers).

Sound together? You mean playing the same thing?

I imagine it would sound like twins talking at the same time. Their voices are very similar but will interfere with each other in some way. Even if they are saying the same thing, it will sound less distinct than either of them talking individually.

im sure the z-680 use different driver with the z-5500, it may be the same size. but the z-5500 seems stiffer. whereas the z-680, seems slightly looser.

You have both models?

And there's no need to use different drivers, unless Logitech got a better deal on a different model.

acting smart??? i think everyone in this forums, know that there are made of aluminium....

'Technology that is out of this world.

Aluminum is so lightweight yet strong that it empowers the little satellites to reproduce sound with unparalleled accuracy and detail. Paired with the Creature III’s ultra-rigid ...'

Wow...aluminum in $100 speakers. That has to be the worst idea I have ever heard. Aluminum requires complex crossovers to tame its resonance peaks. Very few companies are willing to work with aluminum and use polypropylene instead due to the inherent costs in crossover design. I don't even need to hear those speakers to know that they ring like a bell.

And I said satellite speakers. The T-series are stand-alone powered monitors.

Everyone? You mean you and yourself?
