Direct TV Help

I am new to direct tv and I am looking for a simple answer.

I recorded a movie on direct tv. Now I am trying to record that movie on to a video tape. I press record but when I check to see what has recorded-- nothing.

Put the video recorder between the source(DVR) and TV. What you see is what you get.
