Solved! Comcast digital converter problem

I just connected the digital starter cable box from Comcast. I also connected my old VCR as instructed.

I programmed all the channels into the VCR, but it only displays channel 3. Can't track any other channels on VCR.

I can record (channel 3), but playback is without sound. Picture OK.

Anybody want to help?

Tell us how you connected. Remember that the comcast box is needed to decode the signal all tuning is done with the comcast box. The comcast box should feed the vcr inputs either coax or white red and yellow. the output of the vcr then goes to the Tv. you change channels with the comcast remote. If you have sound on the tv you should be recording sound.
