How does vga to hdmi cable work

Hi Support Team

I have ACER make DLP 3D projector and I have Sony make 3D Blu-ray DVD player. If I buy VGA to HDMI 1.4 cable will it work for 3D? If it will work then advice me which one should I have to buy? And advice me please which 3D glasses should I have to buy. My e-mail add. is vimal_gajjar@yahoo.com

First, you might want to remove your e-mail as to not get slammed by spammers.
Second, please identify exactly which model projector you have. I'm not sure a VGA to HDMI cable would even work unless you have something like these converters.

Also, you may want to read through this "3D-Ready" article to make sure your projector and Blu-Ray player are compatible.

Just a guess but if your projector does not have an HDMI 1.4a it is probably not going to be compatible with BluRay disc 3D. You also need a way for the glasses to receive the information that blinks the LCD lenses. It may be compatible with the 3D for games which I think is different and the glasses use USB. Since VGA is analog and HDMI is digital it is not just a cable that can connect them.
