i have just receiced two digital adapters for basic cable. i am wondering if i can use a splitter for the two adapters, because i only have one built in connection.

More details in that question please. Yes you can split the cable signal to feed two cable boxes. The splitter needs to be at least 1000 mhz bandwidth.
