Solved! I have a dvd recorded connected to my hdtv I cant record or set up the channels

Hello,
I just gave up my cable and have attached an hd antenna to my hdtv. I have a dvd recorder hooked up as well - the antenna is hooked up to the DVD player and then to tv through the DVD. Picture is wonderful on the tv; but, I can not record shows and cant set up the channels on my DVD player. Do I need to get a digital tuner for it?

Yes, need to tune the channel before recording it.
OR use audio Video output of TV (if it has one) and connect to DVD recorder,
then the TV will tune the channels for the recorder.
