Solved! How to play bluray movie on HDTV

Hello,
okay so i got this movie file form a friend and it's a highdef movie. i try playing it on my pc using realplayer and it plays at 2114kbps but it freezes. i dont have a bluray drive just a dvd burner. the file i got is a .mp4 extension. im wondering if i can burn the movie file on a dvd and play it on my philips hd-dvd player thats connected to my fullhd lcd tv.

i doesnt look like your dvd player supports .mp4
Playback Formats-DVD, DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD+R, DVD+RW, CD, CD-R, CD-RW, SVCD, MP3, WMA, DivX, DivX Ultra, JPEG, MPEG-1 and MPEG-2.
try to download and install the VLC player
