You need adapters as creative sound blaster audio card have a way of connecting surround anything higher than 5.1 systems or have somebody or make your own connections for the sound card. check 7.1and this is how that thing look like

Use the Z-2300 for the front and the Z-5500 for the rest of the channels.

If your option is to purchase the cable for 7.1 (links above) then buy the 3X (female RCA to mini-jack female socket) for Center/Sub, sides & rears. The front channel can be directly plugged on the soundcard.

http://www.amazon.com/RCA-Female-3-5mm-Stereo-Adapter/dp/B000I98ZM8 connects 3 of these to the http://support.creative.com/kb/ShowArticle.aspx?sid=3069 then to Z5500. Pair #1 sub and center, #2 sides and #3 rear.

Hello rexter, i previously purchased a z-5500 system and have the opportunity to buy a second one from a friend of mine. my question is:

I have a normal laptop with a realtek high definition audio card an recently bought a Creative X-Fi Notebook Sound Card with wireless receiver.

what are my possibilities to connect them together? and still have a good sound ?

thanks

with kind regards Tjtyson :)

Check your manual if Creative X-Fi Notebook Sound Card is capable of SPDIF output, use 3.5 mm to RCA cord to connect analog or digital connection.
