I quite frequently have boot error oxc000000f, windows failed to start. I have to use the CD to repair and start my laptop. When I check the details of the repair the message is "start up options will be added: windows device partician=C:(152625MB). What does this mean? And why does the problem keep re-occuring?

I'm using a MDG computer, with Vista Home Premium 32 bit.

That could be a sign of the hard drive going bad. I would recommend you back up your important data ASAP.

Or something is messing with the boot sector of your hard drive.

Thanks for the information. Unfortunately the warrenty is up, but the ram and motherboard were supposed to have been replaced under warrenty in Feb o8, I had a boot problem then, but I never had the recovery cd. I made sure that I got it from the merchant who were very shady and I now believe that they may have just covered up a more serious problem, but I wont be going back to them.
Thanks again
