Does the Comcast converter box convert the digital signal to analog?
The smaller DTA box that Comcast gives you free (up to 2 of them) for second TVs does convert the digital signal to analog. The main converter (cable box) of course does not. You have to rent multiple cable boxes (at $5/mo) to be able to view HD on secondary HD tvs.
This is why - in my original post - I was asking about a secondary switch that would enable you to switch between the DTA box to watch analog channels in the higher frequencies, and switch the DTA off to watch HD on the basic channels, without having the big cable box for every set. I didn't get any answers.
