External TV tuner with HD

I bought an Olevia 37" tv (model number: 337H LCD) which does not have a tuner built inside. At the time it was not a big deal because i had it hooked up to a digital cable box but now I got rid of the digital cable and just have basic cable in the house. I have an external tuner but what I would really like is to have a tuner that has QAM so I would be able to get HD local channels. Is there any way of going about this?

maybe i could revise my question a little bit and ask would the Toshiba D-R5 with built in tuner do what I am looking for. Can't seem to find a stand alone tuner but this one with the DVD player may work.
