hi,

I bought a 15" Polaroid HDTV with a bad inverter with the intention of repairing it. I know how to fix that problem and use the TV as is but I'm wanting to make another alteration. I opened the thing up and I see the inverter that runs the backlight is actually on the power supply unit itself and not a separate board. The transformer for it is bad. Sure I could replace just the little transformer and all would be well. BUT I was already wanting to see if I could figure out a way to get a 12v DC jack to work with this TV so I can use an AC adapter or 12v battery instead of plugging this thing into the wall all the time.

I see where I can plug in a separate inverter on the PC board but the only option for the power that I see is the 14 pin jack that the PSU was already plugged into.

Does anyone know how to add a DC jack to this board?

Well I've been looking at this thing for some time now. The PSU connects to the mainboard via a 14 pin double row header (right angle male on the PSU and female connector on the mainboard).

Would there be a way to connect a DC jack to this female header connector?
