Hey folks. I hate laptop shopping because I can't build the damn things myself! Consider: It will be primarily for gaming and light photoshop use, after that it's all the general powerpoint, word, msn, web surfing etc.
ASUS N81VPC-C1 ($1,556.64)
14.1" 1366x768
T9550 2.66Ghz
Radeon 4650 1GB
4GB DDR2
320GB 7200rpm
6-cell battery
32-bit Vista
ASUS N51VN-A1 ($1,549.99)
15.6" 1366x768 (ugh on 15.6")
T9600 2.8Ghz
GeForce GT 240M 1GB (new 40nm)
4GB
320GB 7200rpm
6-cell battery
32-bit Vista
So, I have a tough time deciding just between those two... but then I found out this is hitting stores in ~2 weeks:
Gateway P-803H-CA ($1,249.99)
17" --> possibly only 1440x900 res, waiting to find out for sure
P7350 2.0Ghz
GeForce GTX 260M 1GB
4GB
500GB 5400rpm
9-cell battery
64-bit Vista
The Gateway is tempting because of the price, vid card, and 9-cell battery. Slower hard drive and processor though make me hesitate. Gateway's been on a big roll though this past year after Acer bought them and this is still part of their "win back customers with quality parts and pricing" phase, so it's tempting.
What do you guys think? Where is the sweet spot with video card and processor among these three choices, keeping price and screen resolutions in mind?
Cheers!
