I really like this piece of software. Here are a few more reasons:

USB Mouse supported:
If you thought you have to have a PS/2 mouse to use this in DOS, you don't have to anymore. I switched my MS Intellipoint from PS/2 to USB (for better responsiveness). Then, I tried running DI2002 with the boot disks, and I could use the mouse fine. I believe that earlier versions of Drive Image didn't allow this, but now it does.

Ease of image creation in the Windows environment:
It was a little difficult to create images without knowing how big you can make them. You had to enter the size of the maximum file size in bytes. Now, the UI is much simpler. You can enter "700MB" if you have a 700MB CDR, or "650MB" if you have a 650MB CDR.

Anyway, this is especially for Toey, who wasn't aware that you can use a USB mouse in DOS.

If you don't have imaging software, this is a good one to get. Try the demo, and use it to image your current Windows setup. Then, go crazy with Windows until it screws up. You can use that image to go exactly the way it was before.

Um...that's all.

Hi, Bryan!~

I like the new version of Drive Image, too ... it's about 25% faster than v5.0. I like the feature that allows a user to create a partition on a drive for the image if one does not already exist, and that the image can be selected in megabytes instead of bytes.

However, I found that I had no USB mouse support after booting with the Rescue Disks. I created new disks and booted with them, but there was still no mouse support with my system unless I shut down, added a PS/2 mouse, and then booted with the disks, exactly as with the older version of Drive Image.

In case you might be wondering, yes, I do have USB Legacy support enabled in the BIOS, but this doesn't seem to make a difference, although the mouse is functional in Safe Mode.

I am now in a hunt for a Real Mode USB driver than I can add to the bootable disk that might work with this Logitech mouse, but I suspect that my search is going to be rather pointless. :frown: I remember hunting for this kind of driver in the past, and I turned up with zilch.

Aw man... :frown: Well, let's just rejoice about the easier functionality.
