Inspiron 9100 blank screen

Cumputer is running but monitor is always blank. I have tried removing battery @ checking memory one at a time. I have 128gb that worked in another laptop. Usb ports all show a external HD is getting power. Dvd Rom will accept a CD & you can hear it turning & also the fan is working. This is a computer that was given to me & was not running when I got it. Thank You, Dutchman

Connect it to an external display to see if it outputs to it.
