160gb hdd vs 40gb ssd

Ive been searching for a mini laptop out of the HP Mini 1000 Acer and Asus EEE. Ive found for the money and specs the Asus EEE is the best one.

So now i have narrowed it down to two. Which should I get?

Any advantages of a solid state drive to a hard disk drive?

If anyone cares the Samsung NetBook is the best buy in my opinoin because of the 10.2" screen which I could get a touch screen for

In reality, the only real difference is storage space and speed. The SSD will be much faster than the HDD, but at the cost of low storage capacity. There are some claims to power savings with an SSD, but it's a massive debate on whether it's actually true or not, and, to my knowledge, no one has really proved they improve battery life.

I would go with whatever suits you. If you want to be able to do things fast, get the SSD. If you need to store a fair few things on this netbook, get the HDD.

I was watching reviews on youtube and the SSD is horrible if you download stuff and alittle slower on boot up so im going to get the HDD

I don't know what you watched..an SSD should always beat a hard disk in terms of speed. Also, what kind of hard disk you have has absolutely nothing to do with downloading things.

No, not at all-- depends on the SSD, i.e.SLC vs. MLC technology. Suffice to say, that MLC write speeds are abysmal. Better know which memory technology the SSD employs. If you care at all about performance than you make sure to get SLC, but chances are you might not be able to afford it in capacities above 16GB.
