Aspire One Upgradability

So apparently the Linux flavoured Acer Aspire came out on the 2nd July, but I haven't seen many reviews around concerning its innards.

I'm interested, but only if I can upgrade the RAM. Some places are saying that the RAM is soldered to the board, but apparently some official specs from Acer UK state that the RAM is upgradable to 1.5GB.

Has anyone managed to get their hands on one of these netbooks in order to have a poke around inside? :)

Sorry, should have posted: I got this netbook last October, and successfully upgraded it from 512MB to 1.5GB. Runs smooth as silk with Ubuntu Netbook Remix 9.04 now :)

Well, looking at this original thread date, I'm going to guess that you have an original Aspire One like me. For some reason, Acer had it so their Netbooks only supported up to 1.5GB or ram, 512MB of soldered and up to 1GB of upgradeable ram. So try to get a 1GB stick and try again, it should work.[/strike]

Edit - Actually, don't pay attention to my previous message, didn't read your post thoroughly enough. I'm guessing you have a newer model. Well, apparently, your Netbook comes with DDR2 4200, not DDR2 5300, so the memory might be incompatible with the system.
